Sara from WR2BAM and I decided we should collaborate since I am usually unmotivated to take pictures of myself and she usually only post work outfits. We brought along our friend, Farron for support and turned out she’s a pretty darn good photographer. Your’re hired!

First we went to the beach where it was stupid cold and windy. The surfers got a good chuckle at our attempts to keep our hair and skirts in place.

Art/Music/Film/Wine

This past Friday the 13th the boyfriend’s band, SOON, had the opportunity to score the 1920 artistic silent film, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari and play along with it live during a midnight showing at the recently renovated Art Theater in Long Beach, CA.
I always felt that the music is a big part of what makes a suspense/horror movie actually scary. Think about it; Jaws, Halloween, The Wizard of Oz…Soon created a soundtrack that really brought the scenes to life. The rumble of the bass paired with a half bottle of Ravenswood...I was feeling it.

Childs Play

I found this adorable hooded faux fur jacket at Buffalo Exchange a while back. It’s a kid’s jacket so the sleeves are just short of my wrists, which I love. And there’s a patch on the inside lining that I can write my “in case of emergency” info onto. I guess that could come in handy should I get myself lost on a chilly day.

He Takes the Cake

The Food Network can be very dangerous to watch if you are trying to avoid certain foods and cravings. During a day of continuous cake focused episodes, the boyfriend texted me asking if i wanted any dessert. Could he read my mind? RED VELVET CAKE PLEASE! Before the next torturous episode even started, i was presented with my usual red velvet slice from Ralphs Grocery store and a gigantuous cupcake that came in this Beauty and the Beast rose case style thingy. I cant really remember what happened after that, i believed a passed out from joy/cake overload. Just another reason i keep him around.



Meanwhile, in a friend's refrigerator across the street, David D. makes me feel very guilty.i have been known on more than one occasion to force feed him pork products yet he still considers me his friend.

note: fridge door did not contain condiments, but a variety of teas. You are better than me David D.

Silk & Suede

Along with the black drop crotch trousers shown below, i also found these grey ones that have a suede like feel to them. I feel that they were much tighter around the calves when i first tried them on; i really hope they dont stretch out too much more. Im very proud of myself that i went outside of my comfort zone of black pants and blue jeans with these. they shall be a great new, interesting addition to my wardrobe.

By the way, I was in Club Monaco recently and found the same silk pocket tank (in cream and light grey) for $89.00. I believe i got mine for under $25. Forever 21, please create more in different colors!

Spring In My Step

After itching to go to Zara for over a month now, i decided the only way to justify going is if i was going to get money back from my tax return. I guess its somewhat of a good thing that im still paying interest on my student loan (and i will be for a long time to come), otherwise i'd be owing The Man who knows how much. I spent exactly how much im getting back, which is sadly not much.

Zara certainly did not disappoint. I was holding about 20pcs of clothing when I reached the dressing room and almost lost all feeling my in my left arm. I am in love love love with my new drop crotch trousers. They are so comfortable and don’t make me look like I did a doodie in my pants; hopefully. Oh, and I found my new Spring/Summer everyday shoe. They are everything I could have wished for and more.

Arizona

Wish I could have done a little more thrift store shopping while in Arizona last weekend, but at least i found another chunky graphic knit sweater that i had been on the hunt for. theres no tags of any kind attached, so i think that it may have been knitted by somebody's grandma. out of state thrift stores are the best! also a sneak preview of my new drop crotch trousers. more pics of those to come.

Ugghhh! day light savings totally effed me up today. i know we sprung forward an hour but im totally ready for bed right now and its not my bed time for another few hours.

Spent the weekend visiting the boyfriend’s family in Arizona, and all I can recall doing is eating the entire time, from the moment we landed until the moment we left. I gained all the weight back that i had worked off in the gym that last month, but it was completely worth it.

Arizona is a beautiful state, but I try to avoid it between the months of April and September, considering that its 85ºF there at the moment. Now I’m back in gloomy California where it’s been sprinkling on and off all day yayaya

DIY: Wang Sweater

I didn’t want my cutouts to be too sheer so I lined it with a black stretch mesh that can be found in the dancewear fabric section. I was really tempted to try lace; maybe next time. I had a little trouble doing this project. My internet didn’t work so I guessed as to wear the cut outs were. I ended up cutting two big holes right around each boob ugghhh. I had to end up using the back as the front. But then the neck was so high I thought I’d cut a little bit off. Turns out it was a bit too much and it is now a boatneck/off the shoulder style; not a look I was going for grrrrrr. Dont love it, but dont hate it.
